Tempus Two Copper Series Shiraz Gin becomes the first Australian gin to win the Triple Still Award after winning three major World Spirit Competition awards, completing the hat trick by taking home the Double Gold at this year’s prestigious New York World Wine and Spirits Competition.
Following Double Golds at both the Singapore World Spirits Competition and San Francisco World Spirits Competition earlier in the year, this latest win has cemented the Tempus Two Shiraz Gin as Australia’s – and the world’s – best shiraz gin.
To win a Double Gold medal, each member of the esteemed 60-strong judging panel must award the spirit gold based on criteria including palate and quality.
Following Tempus Two’s three successive World Spirits Competition Double Gold wins, the drinks maker received an additional accolade as the inaugural winner of the Triple Still Award – a new award for entrants that receive Double Gold in all three World Spirit Competitions.
The Shiraz Gin which earned the judges’ attention with its distinct characteristics of the wine varietal, was launched by Tempus Two last year, alongside the world’s first Prosecco Gin and a Wild Botanical Gin under the Copper Series gin range.
This now iconic gin displays an aroma of upfront juniper, forest fruits and spice, while on the palate you can experience rich sweetness and primary flavours of shiraz fruit, balanced with juniper lead gin botanicals and an influence of earthiness, raspberry and spice from the shiraz wine spirit.
Tom Dusseldorp, chief marketing officer at Australian Vintage, the parent company of Tempus Two, says that this latest recognition affirms Tempus Two’s position as Australia’s leader in premium gins.

The 100 per cent Shiraz Gin is made from shiraz wine spirit and distilled with juniper berries, coriander, orange peel and shiraz grapes.
